What to Expect

Beginning therapy might feel daunting and overwhelming. To ease any confusion, I've crafted a comprehensive, step-by-step guide outlining what to anticipate when selecting Reclaim Psychotherapy

Step 1: Consultation

I typically recommend starting with a free consultation. This brief 15-minute video session allows us to get to know each other to see if we are a good match for the work you want to do in therapy. This consultation can help you decide whether Reclaim Psychotherapy is a good fit for you. During this time, feel free to ask any questions, and together, we can sketch out a preliminary therapy plan. There's no rush to make a booking decision immediately.

Step 2: Forms

As a new client at Reclaim Psychotherapy, you'll need to complete our New Client Forms before your initial session. These forms are conveniently sent to you electronically and can be easily filled out from any device. They request basic background details and present Reclaim Psychotherapy's terms, conditions, and confidentiality agreement. Once you've submitted these forms, we can move forward with your first session.

Step 3: Therapy Begins

During our initial session, we'll define your goals and craft a tailored therapy plan so that we can get the most out of every session. You can schedule your therapy sessions by emailing me directly or accessing the practice’s Jane Booking Site, which offers session management, invoice viewing, and receipt access. Payment is conveniently processed post-session via the credit card on file. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can discuss paying via e-transfer with your therapist.

Step 4: Ending & Tune Ups

Either of us has the option to end therapy before the scheduled end date. I will only terminate therapy prematurely in cases of abusive behavior. On your end, you're free to end therapy at any time, although I find most clients experience the most lasting benefit when we have a planned conclusion. Scheduling a final appointment allows us to review our progress, strategize for the future, and provide referrals to alternative resources as needed. Should you want or need to come back to therapy at any point, I will welcome you back!
